Introduction

Tiger Eels Design is a small creative brand consultancy started by Teager Eales in 2016.Teager is an old friend of ours and created the Rewild logo when our company first started.

After 2 years evolving the Rewild business into what it is today, we felt our digital presence needed to communicate our companies core values and beliefs. We needed to align with a digital agency that not only knew how to create a website but one that would be able to truly understand what our brand stood for and what our offering was. We spoke to a number of digital agencies and decided to go with our friends from Tiger Eels Design (TED).

The team from TED has just completed the new ReWild Africa website which we are so grateful for. With hindsight to the website overhaul, it would have been a mistake to have worked with anyone other than the incredible team at TED. What gave TED a considerable edge over the other Digital Agencies was the teams ability to listen to our challenges and to offer foresight to approaching the brief. This showed us TED understood right from the beginning how to make our product/service feel authentic.

This collaboration has had a postive impact for ReWIld and the clients we work for. We therefore decided to ask a few questions to the TED team to learn more about who they are.

Q & A | Rewild and Tiger Eels Design

Rewild: Why do you think companies need to build strong brands?

Teager: It is more challenging than ever before to start a business and to have it survive. In todays world, there is so much competition. You can be sure that your idea is already being done by a few players all hustling for the limelight. This is where the power of a strong brand presence is so beneficial.

Rewild: How is Tiger Eels Design relevant in the new economy?

Teager: We take pride in our ability to act fast and be accurate in understanding what our clients are looking for right from the start. Our team is young and understand the channels our clients customers are using. There is no point doing beautiful creative that can’t communicate directly to customers.

Rewild: What is it that you value deeply?

Teager: Having positive energy. This not only makes you feel good but keeps the overall workspace environment positive too. Honesty and transparency is also a top priority in keeping long lasting strong relationships with the team and clients that we work with. As a creative, I know that doing great work isn’t just a matter of plugging in and hitting start. It hits you in waves. When that creative flush arrives, thats when you strike. I believe have flexibility is the key to producing great work.

Rewild: Does design matter?

Teager: Absolutely! However, the word itself is a bit ambiguous. There are so many types of design, industrial, digital, fashion, graphic, UX and each has its rightful place to exist. One thing all designers have in common is the ability to be a problem solver. If you’re an industrial designer working on a compact storage solution for kitchens, there is a problem of cramped space that needs solving, just the same as if you’re a graphic designer trying to visually communicate message for a brand.

Rewild: Why do you think you this project was such a success?

Teager: We have an incredible team of creatives. Each member in the team is an independant creative and takes pride in creating the best work possible. So when we pull together a team to work on a brief, we have the ability to choose the exact right team players to execute the best work. I feel this gives us a nimble advantage over traditional design agencies.

Rewild: Thanks for your time Teager, and thanks again for helping Rewild get to the point where we can confidently build on our own and consult with you if we have issues. This is why our relationship is co-operative. It was great working with you.

Teager: It’s an absolute pleasure, Tiger Eels Design loves what Rewild stands for and we are so pleased to be able to help businesses like yours flourish.
